Morocco, in the top 3 of the most influential African nations

The British consulting firm Brand Finance published its annual report on the most influential nations in the world on the occasion of its annual Global Soft Power meeting organised on 2 March 2023.

In this report, Morocco managed to position itself in the top 3 African nations most influential, despite a slight decline in its score. With a score of 39.2 points, Morocco is placed in 55th position in the ranking, a drop of 9 places compared to the previous year.

However, Morocco still remains at the top of the African podium outside the Middle East, placing just behind Egypt and South Africa. Moreover, Morocco is doing better than some African countries such as Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Nigeria, thus ranking as an influential nation in the world.

Despite the drop in its position in the ranking, Morocco remains an important player in the field of soft power, with high scores in areas such as familiarity and reputation. The country also has a unique cultural wealth and historical heritage, which contribute to its influence on the world stage.

Although challenges remain in areas such as influence, governance, international relations and sustainability, Morocco is determined to continue strengthening its position as an influential and respected nation in the world.
