Rabat – HRH Prince Moulay Rachid joined the funeral of the late Mohamed Moatassim, advisor to HM the King, on Tuesday at the Chouhada cemetery in Rabat.
The deceased was laid to rest at the Chouhada cemetery after Dhuhr and funeral prayers at the Chouhada Mosque in Rabat.
Members of the deceased’s family, relatives, advisors to HM the King, political party officials, and a number of other individuals attended the funeral of the deceased.
The deceased Mohamed Moatassim’s family members received a message from His Majesty King Mohammed VI expressing his sorrow and sympathies.
The late Mohamed Moatassim passed away, and in this message, H.M. the King declares having learned of his departure with great sorrow and grief. He begs the Almighty to accept him among the upright faithful and to welcome him to his boundless paradise.
The Sovereign extends his heartfelt condolences and sincere feelings of compassion to Mohamed Moatassim’s parents, widow Nabila, children Issam and Sara, and all other members of his family, as well as to his close friends, family, and admirers in this difficult situation. The Sovereign prays to the Most High for patience and comfort as they deal with this tragic loss.
The message points out that the death of the late Mohamed Moatassim is a great loss for his family as well as for his country, which has lost in him a great and devoted servant of the State. He dedicated his life to serving his country with dedication and selflessness, exhibiting an unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne as well as to the constants and sacralities of the Nation.
On this occasion, HM the King recalls the great qualities and renowned patriotism of the deceased as well as his fine academic and intellectual abilities and the great acumen in the political and constitutional fields that he displayed in the various high positions he held with great competence. “Faithful to our Throne and to our eternal Constants, both under the reign of our revered father the late His Majesty King,” he says.
Moatassim passed away from an illness on Monday in Rabat.
