The 4th edition of the National Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, the Holy Quran was recently held with the participation of 92 candidates by the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema , Mali Division.

The finalists in three categories—memorization of the Holy Quran in its entirety according to Riwayat Warch, memorization of the Holy Quran in its entirety according to the rubric selected by the candidate, and memorization of five Hizbi—were chosen by a jury made up of members of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema , Mali Division.

Masire Sacco, Hamza Ba, and Youssef Amadou Chou have been chosen as the contestants who will represent Mali in the competition’s final round, which will take place during Ramadan.

Driss Isbain, the Royal Ambassador to Mali, stressed in his speech at the competition that the competition’s essence comes from the spiritual ties that unite Mali and other brethren African nations in general, as well as Morocco.

He emphasized that the initiative aims to coordinate the efforts of all Moroccan and Mali scholar groups in order to safeguard the moral and spiritual principles that have always guided the two nations’ historical interactions.

Mr. Isbain noted that this initiative “can only help to convey and inculcate the benefits of our religion to all and protect Islam from ignorance, deviation, and extremism.”

He emphasized that the relationships between Mali and Morocco are not recent, but he also noted that they are still growing.

The Mohammed VI Foundation of African Olema was thanked for organizing the competition by the Mali minister, who also emphasized that the foundation is “sustainable” and that its activities are a part of the close partnership between Mali and Morocco. The two nations have had a long-standing relationship.

Housin Diakide, the Secretary General of the Foundation’s Mali Division, stated that H.M. King Mohammed VI claimed that the Ameer al-Mu’minin demonstrated his deep devotion to the Holy Qur’an.

He stated that the program’s goal is to inspire the continent’s “children” to memorize the Bible, recite it, and live their lives in accordance with its teachings.

Keeping in mind that all divisions in Africa worked together, the General Secretariat of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema organized the preliminary rounds of the fourth edition of the Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation, and Psalm Competition this January.

A winner was chosen in each of the three competition categories—memorization of the entire Holy Qur’an by recitation—at the conclusion of these preliminary rounds, which were held at the level of the Foundation’s 34 member divisions. Memorization of the entire Holy Quran according to the candidate’s preferred recitation, at least five Hisbs of the Holy Quran, and Psalms are required for Warch a Nafi (Tajwid).

The three category winners of this competition will compete in the finals, which will take place during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mariam Bouzin, a student from Morocco, took first place in the Holy Quran Competition in its inaugural year 2022, which was run by the Mohammed bin Obaid Quran Centre’s Memorization in the United Arab Emirates.

This win was earned by Taroudant’s girl during the closing ceremony on Thursday, which was attended by several representatives from Dubai’s Islamic Affairs sector as well as board members from the UAE’s Mohammed bin Obaid Center for Quran Memorization.

Mariam Bouzin defeated Rayan Tchoukech of Algeria to win the women’s division after memorizing the entirety of the Holy Qur’an. She did this by competing with Rayan Tchoukech to the finals, where several other Arab and Islamic competitors competed.
