Morocco aborts Drug Smuggling Attempt

Al Hoceima: The Royal Navy aborts an attempt to smuggle two tons of drugs and arrests five suspects

A military source stated that the Coast Guard of the Royal Navy aborted, during the early morning of Sunday, October 8, 2020, a drug smuggling operation off the coast of Al Hoceima.

According to the same source, it led to the arrest of five smugglers on board a fishing boat, and seized two tons of drug known locally as “Shira”, which was hidden in 69 packages.

The same source added that the seized cargo and equipment were handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie to complete the established procedure.

Thanks to the vigilance of Moroccan Coast Guard of the Royal Navy, attempts of drug smuggling in Moroccan coasts witness huge failures.
