Nasser Bourita Meets with Counterpart Ayman Safadi to Inaugurate Jordan Consulate General in Laayoune

Today, Thursday, March 4th, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan inaugurated its consulate in Laayoune, making it the third Arab country to open a consulate in this city after the UAE and Bahrain.

Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs African Cooperation and Moroccans Expatriates, inaugurated Jordan’s consulate with his Jordanian counterpart H.E Ayman Safadi, bringing the number of foreign consulates in Moroccan Sahara to 19 consulates; 11 of them in Laayoune and 8 in Dakhla.

This inauguration comes after a phone conversation held between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah ll last November, in which the King of Jordan expressed his country’s intention to open a consulate in the Moroccan Sahara.
