Morocco and Portugal strengthen ways of cooperation

Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, yesterday Friday, held an on ligne communication with the Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Augusto Santos Silve

The Press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad said that the two ministers affirmed “the communication is permanent and regular between the two countries”

The two ministers agreed to prepare for the upcoming projects in a bilateral agenda, pending the convening of

a high-level meeting to  establish a strategic partnership between the two countries.

The communication added” Mr. Bourita and Santos Silva affirmed the importance of enhancing the dynamism of bilateral relations and aligning it with the new

situation imposed the Covid-19 pandemic, by taking advantage of the development of new valuable strategies and exploring innovative areas for cooperation.

Moreover, the Portuguese minister praised the success of the vaccination procedure against Covid-19  in Morocco with the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI . Mr. Santos Silva confirmed Morocco’s active role in the process of integration and cooperation in the Mediterranean region, reiterating his support for the strategic partnership between Morocco and the European Union, presided over by Portugal.

The two ministers affirmed, according to the statement, the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation to contribute the settlement of many regional issues, especially in Libya, and other regions in Africa. They also reiterated the importance of continuing consultations between the two countries in different levels  within the international.
