The Global Firepower website, which is specialized in world military strength rankings, has detected the 6 most powerful armies in Africa, according to 2021 statistics.

According to the website, Morocco ranks 5th in Africa (53rd worldwide); with 510,000 members of military forces (including 150,000 in reserve forces), with an army defense budget amounting to $ 6 billion.

The Moroccan army has 249 warplanes, including 83 fighters, interceptors and 64 helicopters, in addition to training aircraft, military transport and special mission aircraft.

Moroccan ground forces consist of more than 3,000 tanks, 8,000 armored vehicles, 510 self-propelled artillery, 156 field artillery and 144 rocket launchers.

As for the Moroccan naval fleet, it consists of 121 naval vessels, including patrol ships and minesweepers.

It should be noted that Egypt ranks first in Africa (13th worldwide), followed by Algeria (27th worldwide), South Africa (32nd worldwide), Nigeria (35th worldwide), then Morocco in fifth place, and Ethiopia in sixth (60th worldwide).
