Airport Council International (ACI) granted the Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) to 15 Moroccan airports, following an assessment of the measures adopted to confront the Covid 19 pandemic.

According to a statement by the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA), this concerns the airports of Casablanca-Mohammed V, Marrakech-Menara, Agadir-Al Massira, Rabat-Salé, Oujda-Angads, Fez-Sais, Tanger- Ibn Batouta, Ouarzazate, Nador-El Aroui, Essaouira-Mogador, Al Hoceima-Chérif El Idrissi, Errachidia-Moulay Ali Chérif, Tetouan-Saniat R’mel, Dakhla and Laayoune-Hassan 1st.

The ONDA explained that this ACI’s international program works on evaluating the health measures adopted by airports in comparison with the recommendations issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and with the best practices adopted in the sector.

ACI has examined all health measures applied at these airports, which concern all aspects related to airport utilization in various airport spaces: physical distancing, user protection, cleaning and sterilization, preparing facilities and equipment.

The Council also examined the various aspects of communication and information along the traveler’s path, from entering the airports and the arrival of the planes, to the exit from the airports, and passage through the baggage delivery area.

This accreditation, granted by the Airport Council International (ACI), attests to the effectiveness and appropriateness of the health protocol approved by the ONDA at the level of Moroccan airports.

This step also aims to reassure travelers and enhance their confidence in the measures taken to make the various facilities at the airport safe, and that all precautions have been taken to avoid any risks related to their health.

The ONDA staff is keen to manage the process of resuming air traffic, with strict respect for sanitary measures, and ensures a warm welcome and a healthy checking for travelers at Moroccan airports.
