Croatia defeated Morocco to claim World Cup third-place

In the third-place match of Qatar 2022, Croatia defeated Morocco 2-1 by scoring twice in the first half.

Joko Gvardiol and Mislav Orsic’s goals allowed Croatia to complete the World Cup in third place.

Seven minutes into the game, Gvardiol gave Croatia the lead with a diving header from Ivan Perisic’s cross. However, two minutes later, Ashram Dari tied the score for Morocco with a looping header past the goalie.

Three minutes before halftime, Orsic put the game to bed by bending in a beautifully struck shot beyond Yassine Bounou to make it 2-1.

Despite Morocco’s best efforts, a spirited second half produced no goals as Croatia, who finished second in Russia 2018 and earned the bronze medal at the 2022 World Cup, hung on.
