Yassine Bounou is the third-best goalkeeper in the world.

Yassine Bounou, the Moroccan international goalkeeper, was ranked third among all goalkeepers for the 2022 season by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), earning a total of 55 points. Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid, who won the IFFHS award, and Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa, who was ranked second overall, both outperformed him.

Yassine Bounou placed third on the list of the world’s top goalkeepers compiled by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics thanks to his strong performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and his high-profile performances with his club Sevilla.

The Moroccan goalkeeper earned 55 points, surpassing prestigious competitors like Jan Oblak, Wojciech Szczęsny, Hugo Lloris, and Dominik Livakovic  in ranking order.

The first African goalkeeper to rank among the top three goalkeepers in the world is the Atlas lion Bounou.

With a total of 125 points, Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid took home the title of best goalkeeper in the world. Emiliano Martinez of Argentina came in second with 110 points.
