Lawyer: Achraf Hakimi’s Rape Allegations Are Fake

The rape accusations against Moroccan football player Achraf Hakimi have been labeled “fake” by Hakimi’s attorney, Fanny Colin.

“The charges against him are false. He is calm and ready to serve justice, the attorney told French news site Le Parisien.

The Moroccan football player, who represents Paris Saint-Germain, is the subject of the lawyer’s remarks (PSG).

As Le Parisien reported on Monday that French police had launched an inquiry into the player’s possible participation in a rape case, the claims started to surface online.

At a police station, a lady reported that the 24-year-old football player had reportedly raped her on January 16.

The complainant claimed to have seen Hakimi for the first time in person in January at the athlete’s house. She claimed to have known him through Instagram.

Based on social media pictures showing his wife and two kids were vacationing in Dubai, the complainant claimed that the football player was alone himself during the alleged rape assault.

Hakimi attended the FIFA Best Award on Monday, the day the French article about the event broke.

Hakimi was announced as one of the Men’s World 11, a list of the top football players who would create an outstanding football team, during the award ceremony.

According to a story from the Spanish news site Marca on Tuesday, Hakimi feels “confident” of his innocence.
