Royal Navy Rescues 552 Irregular Migration Candidates of Different Nationalities

Rabat – Coastguards of the Royal Navy operating in the Mediterranean and Atlantic have rescued, during the period from 08 to 18 April, 552 candidates for irregular migration of different nationalities, mostly Sub-Saharan, military sources said.

These candidates have attempted dangerous crossings aboard makeshift boats, kayaks, jet-skis and even swimming, said the same source.

The rescued people received first aid on board the fighting units of the Royal Navy, before being brought back safe and sound to the nearest ports of the Kingdom and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, it added.
