King Mohammed VI performs Eid prayer in Casablanca

King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist him, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, Prince Moulay Ahmed and Prince Moulay Ismail, performed, on Saturday, the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at the Al Mohammadi Mosque in Casablanca, and received greetings on this happy occasion.

Coming from the Royal Palace of Casablanca, the Royal procession headed to the Al Mohammadi Mosque amidst the cheers and applause of citizens who came to express their best wishes to the King, Commander of the Faithful, and share with the Sovereign the joy of this happy day that crowns the holy month of Ramadan.

Upon His arrival at the Mosque, the King reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard who made the honors.

After the Eid prayer, the Imam delivered a sermon in which he stressed that believers have bathed throughout the month of Ramadan in an atmosphere of piety, spirituality, divine blessing and recollection, adding that the day of Eid Al-Fitr is a time of joy and generosity to the poor and needy, especially through Zakat Al-Fitr (alms for the breaking of the fast).

The holy month of Ramadan was marked by several initiatives and commendable projects undertaken by King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist him, in various fields, added the Imam, noting that this month was punctuated by scientific activities, particularly the religious talks that bring together every year, under the chairmanship of the Sovereign, the elite of the Ulema to exchange and discuss multiple issues of interest to the Islamic Ummah.

At the end of his sermon, the Imam raised prayers for the repose of the souls of the late Mohammed V and the late Hassan II.

The King then returned to the Royal Palace amidst the cheers of the citizens who had come in large numbers to wish, on this blessed day.

At the same time, cannon shots were sounded on the occasion of this festive day.

At the Royal Palace, King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid and Prince Moulay Ahmed, received the greetings of the Head of Government, the speakers of the two Houses of Parliament, the president-delegate of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, First President of the Court of Cassation, the president of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the general Prosecutor of the King at the Court of Cassation, the presidents of the constitutional bodies, the dean of the Islamic diplomatic corps in Morocco, the Ambassador of Cameroon and several high civil and military personalities.
