Guinea Mines Symposium: the president of the transition launches the 7th edition
On Tuesday, Guinea Mines Symposium, the largest event devoted to promoting the mining industry in West Africa officially kicked off its 7th edition under the leadership of Guinea’s interim president, Mamadi Doumbouya.
This 7th edition, with the topic “Optimize the mining industry to stimulate the socio-economic development of Guinea,” is attended by more than 3,000 mining investors from across the world as well as representatives of mining firms based in Guinea.
Professionals from throughout the nation and the world will debate the difficulties and concerns surrounding mining in Guinea and how they affect the nation’s socioeconomic growth at this three-day conference.
The 7th Guinea Mines Symposium was attended by the ambassador of Morocco in Conakry, who also paid a visit to the booths of Moroccan enterprises and top executives that participated in the exposition.

Guinea supplied 88 million tons of bauxites to cooperating nations in 2021, according to Minister of Mines and Geology Moussa Magassouba.
To encourage the growth of communities located in mining areas and which are touched by mining activities, the Minister asked mining corporations to invest in local content.
