The doctors’ union said early on Sunday that conflict between the regular army and paramilitaries in Sudan resulted in at least 27 deaths and several injuries.

The doctors’ union issued a statement saying that “an initial count of the regrettable events of Saturday… has left 27 people dead,” including in the capital Khartoum.
Approximately 170 people were also hurt during the clashes, which started on Saturday and lasted until early Sunday morning.
