Morocco and the European Union will remain “fully mobilized” to continue their bilateral cooperation (Joint Declaration)

Morocco and the European Union affirmed today, Wednesday, that they will stay fully mobilized to maintain their bilateral and coordinated cooperation in order to protect the legal integrity of their current association agreements.

Following the European Union Court’s decision on the agricultural and fishing agreements with the Kingdom, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security, Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, issued a joint statement saying, “We remain fully mobilized to continue cooperation.”

In the same spirit of mobilization, cohesiveness, and solidarity, we will continue to work on expanding the numerous facets of this strategic relationship. This equal partnership is also founded on a strong bilateral relationship between the Kingdom of Morocco and the European Union, which is based on mutual trust and respect, while also contributing to the strengthening of this connection and the ties that bind it to the member states.

“Take note of the rulings issued today by the Court of the European Union regarding decisions of the Council of the European Union regarding amendments to Protocols 1 and 4 of the Association Agreement between the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco in relation to agricultural and other products on the one hand, and the Partnership Agreement in the field of agriculture on the other,” the two parties said.

The two partners agreed to take “the necessary measures to secure the legislative framework that ensures the continuity and stability of business relations between the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco,” according to the joint declaration.
