In the presence of the Senate, Nell Stewart, the Canadian Ambassador to Morocco, and Habib El Malki, the president of the Higher Council for Education, Training and Scientific Research (CSEFRS), the two met in Rabat on Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Council, the purpose of this conference is to discuss potential partnerships and cooperative opportunities between the Kingdom of Morocco and Canada in the areas of scientific research, training, and education.

The two parties noted the breadth and depth of the bonds that unite the two nations in a number of areas, including education, training, and scientific research, during this meeting and expressed their willingness to deepen their partnership and cooperation in areas of shared interest, particularly since the CSEFRS maintains a strong partnership with the Superior Council of Education (CSE) in Quebec, which has given rise to numerous programs.

In light of the difficulties facing education globally and the need to mobilize resources for the future of this crucial sector to meet the expectations of future generations in terms of scientific research in areas like cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, among others, it was emphasized the need to elevate the partnership and cooperation between the two countries to the highest level.

El Malki also emphasized the Canadian experience in handling multilingualism in education while upholding the nation’s identity and cultural specificity, and he urged using it to one’s advantage given the significance of this issue in the system of public education in Canada.

Casablanca – Morocco will participate in the 8th edition of AEROMART, an international business convention for the aerospace industry, scheduled from April 4 to 6 in Montreal (Canada), announces the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE).

As was the case in the previous edition of AEROMART, this event brings together more than 3,000 participants and 1,500 companies from 45 different countries. The Atlas Lionesses are back after their outstanding performance at the African Cup of Nations! They will play a friendly match against the Canadian team in October 2022.
The Women’s Football World Cup is being co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, and the Atlas Lionesses are working hard to get ready. The women’s national team will compete in Spain and Canada to achieve this.

First case of H1N2 virus infection reported on Wednesday, November 4^th by Canadian Health authorities. H1N2 is a rare strain of swine flu not to be confused with H1N1.

Health officials detected the infection in Albertans after a patient displayed symptoms of the seasonal flu. He quickly recovered after he had been tested and treated.

The case is considered the first and only one in the country during this flu season and there is no risk of contamination so far.

Health officials are investigating the source of the virus to check that it hasn’t spread further.

The H1N2 virus is not transmissible to humans via eating pork or other pig related products, officials confirmed.

H1N2, a rare type of flu in humans, is typically acquired from exposure to infected pigs and is not known to spread easily among humans. Theresa Tam, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Tweeted.

The night of Halloween didn’t go peacefully in Montreal last Saturday. A 24-year-old man disguised in medieval dress attacked pedestrians wielding his sword randomly killing two people and leaving five others seriously injured in hospital.

While the investigation is still ongoing, the suspect’s motives couldn’t be linked to any terrorist organization as they were personal in nature according to Robert Pigeon, Quebec’s chief of police.

Right after the attack, citizens were asked to disperse and leave the Parliament Hill area in Quebec City’s old quarter near Le Chateau Frontenac Hotel while police were looking for the suspect.

Shortly after, police were able to get hold of the suspect and demanded that citizens keep indoors with locked doors while police swept the area.

The suspect will appear before court via video conference technology later Sunday.

While the motives behind the crime are still unclear, mental illness may have played a role in the crime according to police.
