Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, spoke today, Friday 29 January, with his counterpart, National Security Advisor of Israel, Meir Ben Shabbat via a phone call about a number of matters of common interest.

This discussion comes following HM King of Morocco Mohammed VI’s phone call with Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu during which they agreed to set up working groups that will tackle issues related to collaboration agreements in areas of investment, agriculture, water, environment, tourism, science, innovation, and energy.

The working groups will rather engage in online video conferences due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, Israel expects a high-level Moroccan delegation to come possibly this February to finalize the terms of these agreements. On their part, an Israeli delegation, led by Ben Shabbat will also come to Morocco during the same month.

During their phone call, both Nasser Bourita and Ben Shabbat had the chance to reiterate the opportunities at hand concerning the great potential of collaboration which will benefit not only Morocco and Israel, but also the whole region.
