Khadija Assad, Cinema Icon Dies at 71

Rabat – Actress and icon of Moroccan cinema, Khadija Assad, died Wednesday evening at the age of 71 after a long illness.

According to the Moroccan Union of Dramatic Art Professionals, the late actor “mixed the greatness of art with noble values,” leaving a lasting imprint on national theater and cinema with his passion, morality, and feeling of professional brotherhood.

In 1993, when the Moroccan Union of Dramatic Arts Professionals (National Union of Theatre Professionals) was founded, the late Khadija Assad and her late husband Aziz Saad Allah led a pioneering advocacy for their profession. This activism was emphasized by the union.
