AFRICA’S “NATURE INDEX 2021” PLACES MOROCCO IN THE TOP FOUR
As part of its “Index 2021” series, the world-renowned scientific publication Nature examines the worldwide hierarchy of scientific As Africa’s fourth-best country, Morocco is still a long way behind.
A list of the most prolific nations in science is published every year by one of the world’s oldest and most respected scientific publications, Nature.
In order to calculate Africa’s Nature Index, researchers looked at how many papers were published in 82’respected’ scientific publications in the disciplines of life and environmental sciences.
71 publications were listed between 1 January and 31 December 2020, keeping Morocco in fourth place on the African continent for the 2021 edition. Preceding it in order of importance is South Africa followed by Egypt and Kenya.
