Wydad beats Senegal’s Simba, qualifies to CAF Champions League semi-finals

After defeating Simba of Senegal on penalties in the quarterfinals at the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca on Friday, Wydad advanced to the CAF Champions League semi-finals.

The Reds overcame the blip by dominating the penalty shootout thanks to two saves by goalie Youssef Moutai and a goal from Senegalese Bouly Junior Sambou in the 25th minute.

The winner of the quarterfinal between Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and CR Belouizdad of Algeria will play WAC in the semifinals.
