Jumia Names New CEO for Morocco
Jumia names a new General Manager to lead its growth strategy in Morocco Jumia announced Friday the appointment of Marcelle Monkam Siayojie as General Manager of Jumia Morocco.
“This appointment marks a new stage in the development of Africa’s e-commerce leader in Morocco”, Jumia said in a statement, citing the group’s determination to keep growing in a fast-evolving market.
Monkam Siayojie said she was joining with “great enthusiasm”, calling Morocco “a dynamic market, driven by rapid digital transformation and strong growth potential for e-commerce”, and pledged to support local sellers and simplify the customer experience.
She brings over ten years of experience within the Jumia group, starting at Jumia Cameroon in 2014 in commerce and operations roles. After a period outside the company, she rejoined in 2022 as Chief Commercial Officer of Jumia Senegal, moved to the same role at Jumia Kenya in 2023, then was promoted to General Manager of Jumia Senegal before taking on Morocco.
A graduate of an Executive Master’s in Digital Marketing and E-commerce from HEC Morocco, she is known for her results-driven approach and focus on innovation and customer satisfaction.
Jumia said the appointment reflects its commitment to African talent, adding that under her leadership, Jumia Morocco will continue working to “democratize e-commerce, support local entrepreneurs, and contribute actively to transforming the commerce landscape in Morocco”.
