Morocco Welcomes 15.7 Million Tourists in First Nine Months of 2026
Morocco welcomed 15.7 million tourists in the first nine months of 2026, up 5% from the same period last year. Morocco welcomed 15.7 million tourists between January and the end of September 2026, a 5% increase compared with the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy.
The increase represents an additional 717,000 arrivals over the first nine months of 2025, the ministry said in a press release.
Tourism activity picked up further in September, when Morocco received more than 1.5 million tourists, up 8% from September 2025. The ministry said the figures point to continued growth beyond the peak summer season.
“Moroccan tourism’s momentum continues, and its long-term potential remains considerable”, Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor said. She added that the target of welcoming 26 million tourists by 2030 was “closer than ever”.
The next challenge, Ammor said, is to build on this growth by generating more value, jobs and opportunities across Morocco’s regions.
