The Dominican Republic has reaffirmed its “absolute recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara,” highlighting the fact that it “considers favorably” constructing a Dominican consulate in the town of Dakhla.

The Senegalese government has thanked the Kingdom of Morocco for helping to repatriate and provide medical care for some 50 illegal Senegalese migrants.

Following a visit to Dakhla on Tuesday and Wednesday, the minister in charge of Senegalese overseas, Annette Seck, expressed her gratitude on behalf of President Macky Sall, according to a statement from the Senegalese Foreign Ministry.

The mission’s goal, according to the statement, was to offer assistance and support to Senegalese people who were awaiting return to their home country after making an effort at emigration.

The same source said that on Wednesday night, fifty injured Senegalese people were flown back home by a special Senegalese Air Force flight, and that the government “thanks the brotherly government of the Kingdom of Morocco for its cooperation in caring for the injured.”
