293 Moroccans had come from Sudan on Wednesday in two separate planes operated by RAM, each carrying 136 and 157 passengers.

According to His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s High Instructions, Moroccan nationals are being evacuated from Sudan to ensure that they are returned in the best possible circumstances.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify Him, has given His High Instructions to ensure the repatriation of Moroccan nationals from this country, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates on Monday. This was in response to “recent events in the Republic of Sudan and the deterioration of the security situation in this brotherly country.”

According to the High Royal Instructions, the Kingdom of Morocco’s embassy in Sudan organized a land caravan from the capital Khartoum to the city of Port-Sudan in a first phase, benefiting more than 200 Moroccan citizens who were living in Sudan or whose presence here coincided with this challenging domestic situation, said the ministry, adding that this land caravan arrived this Monday evening safely in the city of Port-Sudan.

According to a tweet from Royal Air Maroc, “We are compelled to cancel some flights on April 1st, from and to France, due to the strike notice of the civil service, announced by the unions of the French DGAC.”

In the same threat, RAM encouraged travelers to visit its website to learn about some options in case their travel arrangements were to be made right away.

“We offer several solutions to our dear passengers affected by these cancellations, which can be consulted on the following link,” Royal Air Maroc wrote.

Due to the current workers’ strike against the contentious pension reforms implemented by the French government, flights into and out of France have recently experienced significant disruptions.

After Macron’s administration announced intentions to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64, claiming the urgent need to address the issue of declining state revenues, strikes broke out.

The choice caused a great deal of public outrage and sparked a national backlash from French labor unions. The resulting strikes affected a variety of industries, including airport employees who work for the government. Workers from the railway industry have likewise joined demonstrations opposing the reform.

Concerns are mounting over the crippling effect the protests could have on France’s national economy. In response to the wave of protests, French President Emmanuel Macron said in a televised interview last week that his government will continue to push through the reform regardless of public outcry.

Morocco will not take part in the African Championship for home-grown athletes (CHAN 2023) that will take place in Algeria from January 13 to February 4. The federal organization posted a press release on its website on Thursday, making the decision official.

The Moroccan national football team is unable to travel to Constantine, Algeria, to compete in the 7th edition of the African Championship of Nations of Football, which will be held there from January 13 to February 4, 2023 (CHAN 2002), and defend its title because the flight of Royal Air Maroc (RAM), the team’s official air carrier, from Rabat to Constantine has not yet received official authorization.

Following its request for authorization of a RAM flight from Rabat to Constantine, the FRMF was informed on December 22, 2022 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), as the body in charge of the organization of the CHAN 2022, that an authorization in principle had been obtained.

Based on this preliminary approval, the FRMF shared the Moroccan Selection’s flight details and coordinates in order to secure the final approval of the RAM flight from Rabat to Constantine. The Moroccan Selection’s participation in the CHAN 2022 was also continued, including the preparation training course that will take place at the Mohammed VI Complex of Football in Salé from January 6 to January 10, 2023.

While the FRMF is in charge of organizing the Moroccan Selection’s trip from Rabat to Constantine and the start of the CHAN 2022 is set for January 13, 2023, or in less than 24 hours, the FRMF regrets that the CAF has not yet officially authorized the RAM flight from Rabat to Constantine.

Royal Air Maroc scheduled new special flights on March 7th and 8th, 2022 from Budapest to Casablanca for Moroccans established in Ukraine at the same fixed rate of 750 MAD taxes included.

The fare costs for the March 7-8 flights will be fixed at MAD 750 ($75), as with similar special flights Royal Air Maroc has arranged in recent days to transport Moroccans from the European country.

Morocco has urged its citizens to flee Ukraine via crossing points with Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary so that it may help and support them in the midst of the rising crisis.

Following the closure of Ukrainian airspace since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of the nation, Royal Air Maroc then arranged a number of special flights between Morocco and the four countries.

In recent days, the Moroccan airline business has been flying special flights as part of the Moroccan government’s intention to repatriate all Moroccans willing to return to Morocco despite the escalating violence in Ukraine.

Moroccan crisis cells have been established to receive and respond to pleas for assistance and information from Moroccan nationals stranded in Ukraine.

Morocco has also mobilized its embassies in Ukraine’s surrounding nations to assist Moroccans escaping crisis zones in returning home.

Morocco has echoed worldwide concerns over the situation in Ukraine on the diplomatic front, urging for serious talks to end the conflict.

The unprecedented demand for tickets after the royal intervention in order to reduce prices and facilitate the entry of the Moroccans residing abroad made some surprised that tickets had run out from international destinations, especially after the company released what it called a historical and unprecedented system to receive Moroccans in implementation of the royal instructions.

In a related context, the RAM invited customers to search for alternative dates in the event that they did not find available seats on the desired dates, and it also stated that in the event that tickets for some flights are unavailable on certain dates, more than 70%t of the summer capacity remains available for marketing.

In accordance with royal instructions, the RAM offered round-trip tickets at a price of 97 euros for all flights coming from Europe, except for Russia and Turkey. As a result, the company revealed it sold 120,000 tickets in one day.
