Ministry of Interior: the raging fire in Mohammadia has been put out

On December 22, 2022, at about six o’clock, a fire started at a gas depot in Mohammadia.

When the intervention teams, assisted by members of Marsa Maroc and Lydec, were able to extinguish the fire at 8.30 p.m. without registering any human casualties, local authorities, security authorities, and civil protection interests rushed in to take the required actions.

Due to the material losses, 5 tanker trucks with an average weight of 8 tons from the origin of the 7 were found to be on fire.

The intervention teams worked to protect the area next to the warehouse and withdraw it from the residence as part of the standby steps in case there was any damage. To find out more about the incident’s circumstances, the appropriate authorities have launched a search under the direction of the local public prosecutor’s office.
