Memorandum Of Understanding To Strengthen Cooperation With Kenyan Mombasa County

A delegation from the Kenyan county of Mombasa paid a visit to the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma region to examine ways to strengthen decentralized cooperation and sign cooperation and partnership agreements with political and economic bodies.

The visit of the Kenyan delegation, led by Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho, and composed of members of the local government and parliament, and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), aims to strengthen decentralized cooperation in areas of common interest with the region of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma.

The Kenyan delegation visited the Tanger Med port complex, where they discovered the quality of the infrastructure, the potential of the port complex and the advantages of its industrial platform, and examined the possibility of strengthening cooperation and maritime exchanges between Tangier Med and the port of Mombasa.

The delegation held a working meeting with Fatima El Hassani, President of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma region and members of the Regional Council, which was crowned with the signing of a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation between the two parties. in the areas of blue economy, sea fishing, port management, tourism and the promotion of territorial attractiveness, as well as the protection of environment.

Under this memorandum of understanding, signed on April 29 during a ceremony organized virtually, under the chairmanship of Morocco’s Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. El Mokhtar Ghambou, the two parties agreed to consolidate their cooperation and develop exchanges of experience and expertise in areas of common interest.
