The Women’s World Boxing Championship brought together more than 320 participants representing 70 countries, including Morocco. In the semi-final, the Moroccan champion Khadija El Mardi, qualified by dominating the Russian Pyatak Diana on the unanimous decision of the judges. She declared at the end of the fight that her objective was to win gold. The Moroccan heavyweight champion has achieved her “dreams and those of all Moroccans”.

The Moroccan boxer, Khadija El Mardi (+81 kg), was crowned world champion in heavyweight on Sunday evening in New Delhi. The Moroccan boxer won the gold medal at the World Championships of women’s boxing, held in the Indian capital, after beating the Kazakh Kungeibayeva Lazzat.

A year after her final loss at the Women’s World Championships in Turkey, Khadija El Mardi was finally able to realize her dream by becoming the +81kg World Heavyweight Champion. Determined to win the precious metal, El Mardi dominated Khazak Lazzat Kuneibayeva in the final. A major achievement for national boxing, after the one achieved by Mohamed Rabii at the 2015 World Championships.

The Kingdom of Morocco received the “World’s Best Scenic Country” award at an event organised on Friday in New Delhi by the Indian travel magazine Travel Jingles.

The award was presented to the representative of the Moroccan embassy in New Delhi by the dean of the diplomatic corps in India, the ambassador of Eritrea.

The Diplomatic Awards 2023 event, organised by Travel Jingles, was graced by the participation of ambassadors and diplomats from various countries as well as renowned personalities from the tourism industry.

On this occasion, the Moroccan embassy in New Delhi was keen to present the assets and the famous tourist attractions which the Kingdom abounds in and to highlight the rich culture, the breathtaking landscapes and the dynamism, the charm and the originality of the Moroccan cities and towns.

According to the Moroccan diplomatic representation, this consecration confirms the position of Morocco as a world tourist destination.

The event, the same source adds, was also an opportunity to attract the attention of the tourist operators, to present them the authentic offer of Morocco’s destination and to throw light on the cultural heritage of the Moroccan cities and the advantages granted in terms of offer, accommodation and tourist activities.

“Travel Jingles” is a famous Indian magazine, specialised in tourism and travel, which acts as a bridge between the diplomatic representations, the professionals of the tourism sector and the travellers.

Morocco has agreed to deliver 1.7 million metric tons of phosphate fertilizers to New Delhi over the following 12 months.

According to a press release from the OCP group on Sunday, “the signing of these memorandums is a commitment for a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening food security and working for innovative and sustainable agriculture.”

In the presence of Mansukh Mandavia, the Indian Minister of Health, Chemical Products and Fertilizers, and Rajesh Vaishnau, the Indian Ambassador to Morocco, the agreements were signed on Saturday by representatives of the Moroccan group, led by Mostafa Terrab, chairman and chief executive officer of the Moroccan state-owned phosphate-mining company.

The Moroccan officials, led by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khaled Ait Taleb, had a meeting with the Indian Minister. He also went to the OCP group’s Jorf Lasfar industrial complex.
