“Centered on the spirit of seriousness to which His Majesty King Mohammed VI has called His People, and on the dignity to which all citizens are entitled, His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s speech set a clear course and a generous vision for Morocco,” said Dati in a statement.

“A stable and innovative country, Morocco is moving forward with determination into the future,” she added, noting that the very voluntary economic measures announced by His Majesty the King underline “the strength of the Moroccan economy” and its “very good integration into international trade.”

The development of green economy-related industries and renewable energy sources has long been a top goal for the Sovereign. The development of the hydrogen-powered car in Morocco, she stated, “under His impetus, will be an undeniable marker of the dynamic nature of the Moroccan economy.”

HM the King has reiterated His belief in the creative brilliance and innovative energy of young people, as part of His ongoing concern for them, according to Dati.

”Encouraging them to redouble their inventiveness and creativity, HM the King has made young people a pillar of the Kingdom’s economic development, the guarantee of a generous and forward-looking Nation”, said the French right-wing figure, stressing that ”the rigorous commitment of Moroccan youth is the surest guarantee of the Kingdom’s development and its international influence.”

She also noted that “the relevance and vision of the Moroccan autonomy initiative in the Sahara, and the prospects for peace and development that it opens up for the Kingdom’s southern provinces, have led to the multiple international recognitions of Morocco’s sovereignty over its provinces, achieved thanks to the Sovereign’s unwavering commitment.”

In response to the royal speech’s mention of Morocco’s joint bid with Portugal and Spain to host the 2030 World Cup, Dati said that this was evidence of the “very good diplomatic climate, in a spirit of peace and dialogue, that His Majesty King Mohammed VI has tirelessly developed over recent years.”

Mehdi Rifi, Director General of the Agricultural Development Agency, who inaugurated the Moroccan gallery in the presence of the representative of the Kingdom of Morocco’s embassy in Paris and officials of the agency, considered that Morocco’s participation in the Paris International Agricultural Show is an opportunity for Moroccan exhibitors to exchange their experiences with their counterparts from Europe and the world, and to benefit from successful experiences.

Mehdi Rifi in the company of the representative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Paris and officials from the agency.

In a statement to the Express, Rifi explained that the participation organised by the Agricultural Development Agency is part of the strategy to develop the marketing of local products, which began during the Green Morocco Plan and was reinforced during the Green Generation Strategy, which aims to create a new middle class in the rural world.

He added that “the Moroccan pavilion is an invitation to discover the Moroccan wealth, where 30 groups of producers from all over the kingdom are exhibiting more than 100 local products, and these groups represent 48 farmers’ cooperatives that bring together more than 1,600 small farmers, including 703 rural women.

He stressed that the local products on display have been selected according to strict standards in terms of quality, packaging and health safety, noting that they “reflect the qualitative leap that Morocco has witnessed thanks to the tireless work done over the past decade in this very field.

The Director General of the Agricultural Development Agency revealed that the Moroccan participation in the fair was preceded by preparatory work, which consisted of training exhibitors through workshops, with the scheduling of at least 250 working meetings between them and representatives of large and medium-sized markets, as well as representatives of commercial centres, in addition to actors in the field of marketing and promotion of local products.

Mr. Rifi concluded his speech by stressing that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests and the Agricultural Development Agency are constantly working to support and strengthen the capacities of small farmers and producers in order to enable them to provide the best products on the local and international markets and to improve their income and standard of living.

Dubreuil, a judicial journalist, set up a Twitter thread where she live-tweets the trial, reporting all of the Moroccan artist’s claims.

The tweet in issue gained a lot of attention because the journalist cited Saad as saying that he is from the middle class and that he traveled to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue his studies.

The notion that the son of two of Morocco’s most well-known artists, Bachir Abdou and Nezha Regruari, is attempting to pass as “middle class,” has incensed Moroccans, who have flocked to Twitter to express their fury.

The artist didn’t complete high school because “he chose to follow his goals,” according to the same Twitter post.

Many didn’t like how Lamjarred, who was accompanied by a translator, kept bouncing between French and English when responding to questions and steadfastly avoided bringing up his prior rape case in the United States.

He wants to concentrate on today’s trial, according to his attorney.

According to the journalist’s tweets, Lamjarred discussed how Ghita Allaki, whom he married in September 2022, had been by his side for many years and had supported him through everything while he built his career.

Saad revealed that his music generates between 10,000 and 15,000 US dollars per month in his current source of income. The artist went on and on about how, over the past few years, this looming trial has impacted his life, profession, and those around him.

Lamjarred indicated that he had experienced recent suffering from the effects of this accusation, as well as from great pressures that reached the point of depression, but he tried to fight it when he stated during his appearance before the judge that he had waited seven years to be able to talk about the condition that had hurt him and his loved ones.

The artist declared, “The theme of my song is love,” but many people in the audience criticized this claim. Some of Lamjarred’s lyrics from the songs “Ghaltana” and “Enty,” which both have an unloving tone toward a fictitious woman and depict arguments between a man and a woman, were uploaded on Twitter by users.

The songs are explicit, as Lamjarred blames the female for certain things in the first song, and criticizes her standards in the second.

When his wife took the stand as a witness to the case, being his previous assistant and life long best friend, she explained that “the person I have been with for a long time is incapable of committing what he’s being accused of.”

Lamjarred, who admitted to cocaine use and drinking alcohol “occasionally back in the day,” strictly denied the rape charges filed by Laura B.

His wife said that she was aware of her husband’s drug use, adding that she knew that he was innocent, and she had listened to his version of the matter, and she was completely convinced of his words and that he did not commit the acts attributed to him.

Lamjarred has a significant fan base in Morocco and was long regarded as the Arab starlet, dominating the Middle East and North Africa with his numerous, successful releases.

After the initial complaint surfaced, many admirers defended the Moroccan musician. However, when more women came forward to support Lamjarred, and as news spread that he was facing yet another rape accusation in the United States, where he was living, more people began to believe the allegations.

Up until Friday, the trial is planned to go on.

In an official note to France, Algeria expressed its strong protest against the secret and illegal evacuation of Amira Bouraoui requested by the Algerian judiciary.

Relations between the two countries have become very tense, at a time when Tunisia is also suffering the wrath of Algeria after failing to cope with French pressure imposed by the consulate of that country, which has spoken publicly and considered that the Franco-Algerian activist was under French protection.

Last night, Bouraoui appeared on her Facebook account, justifying her departure from Algeria by the fact that she could not stand so much injustice, preventing a citizen from travelling is an infringement of his most fundamental rights, preventing him from working and suing him even because of jokes on Facebook makes her feel unwanted, noting that she feels safe where she is now, and is no longer afraid of being arrested just for a few words and a handful of thoughts on Facebook.

The Algerian political activist managed to reach the French city of Lyon, after being threatened with deportation to Algeria, where she faces a two-year prison sentence. The case of this well-known activist caused widespread controversy after she sneaked into Tunisia outside official border crossings and enjoyed the protection of the French consulate there.

This fact has led to a set of data that can be analysed at three levels. The first level concerns the level of French penetration in Tunisia, where a sovereign country is subject to diplomatic pressure, and where even its president issues a travel permit.

The second level concerns the case of this activist, which is just one of many cases of widespread human rights violations in Algeria, to the extent that citizens who are hunted down and followed venture to escape with their lives from a large prison guarded by goats.

The third point is that this incident proved that Morocco remains the most independent and most strict country in the defence of its sovereignty and institutions, and that it resists any French attempt to pressure it or interfere in its judicial decisions, as Paris is trying to do today through the window of the European Parliament.

This first partnership agreement, which was signed for a period of five years, will carry out activities with Moroccan and African youth while concentrating first on the World Heritage Youth Education Programme and UNESCO.

The Foundation has modified an educational kit created by UNESCO for young people to learn about and comprehend their city’s heritage for the first time ever in the history of the world.

In December 2022, this kit, titled “I discover my heritage,” was distributed to 4,700 students from 62 colleges of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Academy for the second time. These students approached with the help of their teachers and under the supervision of heritage experts, including archaeologists, architects, curators of sites, and inspectors of historical monuments, which are city landmarks listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

https://twitter.com/AAzoulay/status/1617932936422256644?s=20&t=rq_fr-a3QGepdK1S9srG3g

The general public will then be involved in initiatives to increase awareness and promote cultural heritage, such as the urban exhibition “Rabat, a World Heritage” that His Royal Highness officially opened on January 8 of this year to mark the city of Rabat’s addition to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Through informative plates and a collection of images of the eight parts of the property listed as a World Heritage Site as well as its buffer zone, this exhibition demonstrates the outstanding universal value of the city of Rabat.

Together with UNESCO, the Foundation is dedicated to making a difference on the African continent. The World Heritage Convention will be applied to protected sites in Africa and Morocco as part of this joint effort.

The partnership agreement also includes participation in various regional, national, and international events hosted by UNESCO, as well as capacity-building programs for heritage actors who manage and preserve it in Rabat, Morocco, and Africa.

In the presence of the Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, the President of the Moroccan National Commission for UNESCO, Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Nouzha Alaoui, the Secretary-General of the Foundation, and Samir Addahre, the Kingdom’s Permanent Ambassador-Delegate to UNESCO, H.R.H met with the Director-General of UNESCO on this occasion.

Along with them, Astrid Gillet, the head of the executive office of Ms. Stefania Giannini, the assistant director general for education, Edouard Matoko, the assistant director-general for priority Africa and external relations at UNESCO, Ernesto Ottone, the assistant director-general for culture, and Julien Pellaux, the director of partnerships, were present at the meeting.

The President of the General Conference, the President of the Executive Board, the Chairs of UNESCO’s electoral groups, and Assistant Directors-General were all present at the reception that the Director-General of the UN Organization hosted in Her Honor at UNESCO House.

H.R.H Princess Lalla Hasnaa was welcomed at UNESCO Headquarters by Director-General Audrey Azoulay, Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations, Mr. Edouard Matoko, and the ambassadors of the Arab Group and the Africa Group before being especially welcomed by the Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, President of the Moroccan National Commission for UNESCO, Chakib Benmoussa, the Minister of National Education, and the Minister of National Sports.

During the demonstration organized by members of the Moroccan community residing in France, on Saturday, in “Place de la Republique” in Paris, it was documented that Moroccan women were subjected to brutal assaults by a group of separatists, some of them were carrying sticks.

Moroccan activists on social media praised the courage of Samira Boulanouar, who appeared in the video, peacefully defending the Moroccan flag. This prompted the “Polisario” separatists to attack her in front of her children. Samira Boulanouar said that a group of separatists, men, and women, attacked her during the demonstration, to take the Moroccan flag that was in her possession; but they were not able to do so.

Moroccan commentators condemned the attack by separatists on the Moroccan woman, describing it as a “cowardly barbaric act”, calling on the members of the Moroccan community abroad to rally in this circumstance the national issue is passing through. Moroccan activists called on the Moroccan political parties and associations abroad to frame the members of the Moroccan community to confront the separatist demonstrations which are promoting false information about the Moroccan Sahara and trying to win the sympathy of the international public opinion.

The Moroccan community in France exposed the propaganda carried out by the “Polisario” front abroad to confuse the French public opinion regarding the developments of the Moroccan Sahara issue after the liberation of Guerguerat crossing, as it emphasized the issue’s justice and adherence to peace to settle the fabricated regional conflict.

Writer and journalist Sofiane al-Samarrai said that the Polisario gangs “were wearing the uniform of the terrorist Iranian Revolutionary Guards during their attack on demonstrations of the Moroccan community in Paris against this gang’s interference in the Moroccan Sahara.”

The Iraqi journalist added, in a post on his account on the “Twitter” social networking site, that “Iran and Algeria sympathize or support this terrorist act.”

After the failure of the “internal separatists” card, the “Polisario” Front resorted to its activists abroad, including Algerians, to put pressure on the international community and the United Nations, in a move intended to extract a supportive position after more than 40 countries showed solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco in defending its security and territorial integrity.
