“Matkissh Weldi” condemns former ambassador for sexual exploitation of underage girls, asks for maximum sentence

The child protection NGO “Matkissh Weldi” recently issued a statement titled “Sexual exploitation and Sex trafficking” and posted it on their official Facebook page. The statement called for the former ambassador who was involved in the sexual exploitation, trafficking, and prostitution of underage girls to face the harshest penalties possible, disregarding any appeals for mitigating circumstances.

The investigating judge at the court of appeal in Rabat issued a warrant for the former ambassador’s arrest and prosecution for the offenses of “Human trafficking and sexual exploitation of underage girls.”

The Organization declared that it had been following the situation and had taken a strong stance against what it called the man’s “unethical, shameful, and despicable” conduct, which was not appropriate for his position as a Moroccan diplomat and former ambassador, whose responsibility it is to represent our country as effectively as possible.

“Matkissh Weldi” denounces his actions of enticing youngsters to engage in prostitution and taking dubious photographs as well as grooming and inciting them to do so. He also calls for a thorough examination of the dubious photographs and the identification of any potential collaborators.

A reliable Hespress source claims that the group is getting ready to form a civil party to represent the minors who were injured in this case, which attracted national attention.

“The law is above us all,” and “this isn’t about settling accounts or taking sensitive posts into consideration; This is about his unethical practices as a person and as a Moroccan citizen, which makes him nothing more than a pedophile,” Najat Anwar, the Organisation’s Chairwoman said.

The activist defended childhood rights in Morocco, calling for the law’s exemplary and punitive

role to deal the hand of justice in this case.

“We always demanded that penalties and sanctions be harsh for sexual assault of any kind on children, as on the recent trial of the rapists of a Tifelt child, and we are still demanding for 20 years in prison as a minimum sentence in criminal law for sexual assaults on children, and imposing it on everyone, without exceptions, for the law is above us all.”

“The call for tightening criminal provisions is because of the heinous and horrible exploitations and incitement of underage students into prostitution . How could we ever hope to convince them that a bright professional career awaits them when they earned sums reaching 500dh an hour?”

Anwar renewed their call to “carry out the harshest of sentences on whoever dared to taint and exploit our children and minors, so that they could be an example for every rapist hidden in plain sight.”
