FAR Inspector General Holds Talks with U.S. Secretary of the Army
Upon High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, and on the occasion of the 22nd African Lion exercise, Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, met on Friday at the Southern Zone Headquarters with U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom.
Discussions between the FAR Inspector General and the U.S. Army Secretary focused on various aspects of bilateral military cooperation, which forms part of a momentum of continuous improvement year on year, according to a statement from the FAR General Staff.
The two officials praised the excellent relations between the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces and the U.S. Armed Forces, exemplified by regular strategic dialogue and intense, ongoing cooperation activities, such as the African Lion exercise, whose 2026 edition coincides this year with the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
Following the meetings, the two officials visited the Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) to learn about the progress of training exercises and emerging technologies used during this edition of African Lion.
