Financial Sector Adopts New Roadmap to Fight Corruption
Four financial and anti-corruption institutions have approved a new roadmap for 2027–2028. The plan aims to strengthen integrity and prevent corruption across the financial sector.
The decision followed their sixth annual high-level meeting on October 20. The participating institutions were the National Authority for Probity, Prevention and the Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC), Bank Al-Maghrib, the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) and the Insurance and Social Welfare Supervisory Authority (ACAPS).
The meeting reviewed progress made in 2025–2026 under a cooperation agreement signed in November 2019.
More Than 900 Employees Receive Training
Over the past two years, the four institutions organized training and awareness campaigns to improve corruption prevention. More than 900 employees from the signatory institutions took part.
They also worked with the Moroccan Foundation for Financial Education to strengthen trainers’ skills in integrity and corruption prevention.
Another initiative brought together 70 officials and professionals from 40 financial and non-financial institutions. The meeting focused on sharing best practices under the international ISO 37001 anti-bribery management standard.
The institutions also continued assessing corruption risks within the financial system and developing measures to address them.
New Plan Focuses on Skills and Integrity
The 2027–2028 roadmap sets out several priorities. These include further training, practical guidance and a stronger culture of integrity across the sector.
The plan also calls for action based on corruption risk assessments. It aims to expand partnerships with academic institutions and strengthen cooperation with international counterparts.
The INPPLC is also expected to obtain ISO 37001 certification in 2027. The standard sets requirements for anti-bribery management systems.
The four institutions reaffirmed their commitment to working together, sharing expertise and developing joint initiatives. They also expressed hope that their efforts could provide useful examples for other sectors.
