German Radio Describes Morocco as ‘Essential’ Economic Partner for German Companies
Morocco is establishing itself as an “essential” economic partner for German companies, particularly as a gateway to Africa, according to German public radio station Deutschlandfunk .
In a podcast released on the occasion of German Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul’s visit to Morocco, the German media outlet highlights the Kingdom’s structural strengths, citing in particular competitive production costs, cheaper energy, and political stability, which enhance its appeal to international investors.
Morocco, the same source adds, ranks among “economic champions” of the African continent, emphasizing the potential for German-Moroccan economic cooperation, particularly in light of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.
The German media outlet speaks of Casablanca as a booming financial center for the entire African continent, at a time when the Kingdom is standing out as a safe location for establishing data centers powered by renewable energy, particularly solar and wind power.
The role of the Port of Tanger Med was also highlighted, now Africa’s leading port hub and one of the largest in the world, noting that its capacity exceeds that of major European ports.
In this context, the same source emphasizes the need to expand bilateral cooperation to forge even stronger partnerships in academic, scientific, and cultural fields, in order to further enshrine ties between Morocco and Germany.
The German foreign minister visited Morocco as part of the second session of the multidimensional strategic dialogue between Rabat and Berlin, which are celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
