Morocco's DGSN-DGST hub denies any breach of its security systems, citing forged documents and fake images Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) have categorically denied any breach of their information systems or security databases, which they say are subject to the highest cybersecurity standards.
In a statement, the DGSN-DGST hub said the personal data recently published did not result from any breach of its security systems, stressing that the data is outdated and was downloaded from databases and information systems managed by insurance companies and social security and health insurance agencies.
The statement also warned against the frequent spread of manipulated photographs, presented in a misleading and malicious manner as depicting male and female civil servants in various security services, as well as the circulation of falsified and counterfeit documents presented as security documents.
These are clearly fake images and forged documents, the statement added, pointing to the use of military uniforms and ranks that do not exist in Morocco and are not used within the DGSN. It said the leaked documents also contain incorrect visual identifiers and glaring grammatical errors.
The DGSN-DGST hub refuted all false reports alleging a breach of security data systems, which it said are not connected to networks open to the internet. The same source affirmed that security investigations are ongoing, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in creating, producing and publicly sharing this false information.
