Guinea Thanks King Mohammed VI for Humanitarian Repatriation Operation
Guinea has expressed its sincere gratitude to King Mohammed VI following a humanitarian operation that helped return several Guinean nationals to their home country.
Speaking to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP) on Sunday, Guinea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Guineans Abroad, Morissanda Kouyaté, thanked the Moroccan King as the first group of Guinean citizens arrived at Conakry International Airport. They were transported on a flight operated by Royal Air Maroc from the city of Dakhla as part of a voluntary return program.
Kouyaté praised Morocco’s continued efforts to support these citizens, who had been affected by a shipwreck in Moroccan territorial waters. He said Guinea will always remember this humanitarian gesture, which adds to many others carried out by Morocco.
The minister also highlighted the strong and long-standing relationship between Morocco and Guinea, noting that both countries continue to work closely to strengthen their ties.
More voluntary return operations are expected in the coming days, bringing the total number of Guinean nationals returning home to 360.
In addition, medical and psychological support has been provided to those who chose to return, helping them reunite with their families and recover from their ordeal.
