Abdellatif Hammouchi on a working visit to Vienna to strengthen security and intelligence cooperation Abdellatif Hammouchi, head of Morocco’s national police and domestic intelligence, is on a working visit to Vienna from May 5 to 7, leading a senior security delegation, Moroccan authorities said.
The visit includes participation in multilateral meetings on security and intelligence cooperation organized by United Nations bodies, as well as bilateral talks with Austrian officials. Discussions focus on strengthening coordination to address terrorism and other transnational threats.

During a regional intelligence meeting held at the Vienna International Centre, Hammouchi presented Morocco’s integrated counterterrorism strategy and outlined current global terrorist threats. Representatives from several countries, including Gulf, Arab, and regional partners, also took part in the meeting aimed at boosting joint efforts against extremist groups.
On the sidelines, Hammouchi held talks with Silvia Meier, head of Austria’s state protection and intelligence services. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as migration, human trafficking, organized crime, terrorism, money laundering, arms trafficking, and drug smuggling, as well as information-sharing on internationally wanted individuals.
The Austrian official praised Morocco’s intelligence support, which has helped prevent terrorist plots and arrest extremists in Austria. She also expressed interest in learning from Morocco’s experience in combating terrorism and organized crime, describing the country as stable and secure.
Moroccan officials said the visit highlights the country’s growing role as a reliable partner in international security cooperation and reflects strong trust with European and regional counterparts.
