Morocco’s MedConnect Is Using AI to Reimagine Healthcare Across Africa
MedConnect at GITEX: Moroccan engineers bringing AI to the heart of African healthcare — from predictive algorithms to smart hospital monitoring. At the recent GITEX exhibition, MedConnect — a Moroccan company specializing in health technologies — brought a clear message: African healthcare systems are under pressure, and Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things are the tools needed to relieve it. Experts and engineers from the company called for accelerating the adoption of advanced digital solutions, citing growing challenges around human resource shortages, unequal access to care, and the urgent need to improve service quality across the continent.
MedConnect’s approach, as presented at the exhibition, is built around full coherence between technical and engineering components — providing continuous support to clients at every stage of a project, from study, planning, and design through to implementation, maintenance, and ongoing monitoring.
The challenge today is no longer limited to the digitization of healthcare services, but rather extends to building intelligent systems capable of interacting instantly with data and supporting both medical and administrative decision-making efficiently.

What MedConnect showcased at GITEX
The company presented two categories of advanced solutions at the exhibition. The first is remote health monitoring systems enabling the instant transmission of patients’ medical data to healthcare professionals, supported by analytical algorithms capable of predicting risks before they occur. The second is intelligent environmental monitoring systems for healthcare facilities — measuring temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide levels, with automatic intervention features in case of irregularities.
Fedoul also emphasized that continuous monitoring of healthcare networks has become a fundamental pillar for service continuity — and that the company provides smart real-time monitoring systems and proactive intervention mechanisms to prevent technical failures and improve operational efficiency within healthcare institutions.
Africa’s strategic window
Experts at the exhibition stressed that Africa holds a strategic opportunity to modernize its healthcare systems through the direct adoption of advanced technologies — and that investment in healthcare AI is an urgent necessity, not a future aspiration. MedConnect affirmed that its GITEX participation reflects its commitment to Morocco’s national momentum in reforming and modernizing the healthcare sector, in line with strategic orientations that position technological innovation as a key development lever. The company described itself as a Moroccan citizen-oriented enterprise committed to building a more efficient and inclusive healthcare system through solutions tailored to both national and African contexts.
