Royal Pardon for Senegalese Supporters Before Eid
Before Eid, a royal gesture — King Mohammed VI pardons jailed Senegalese supporters in the spirit of Morocco-Senegal brotherhood. King Mohammed VI granted a royal pardon on Saturday to Senegalese supporters who had been imprisoned following the violence that broke out at the AFCON 2025 final in Rabat. The decision, announced by the Royal Cabinet, was taken “for humanitarian considerations” and ahead of Eid Al-Adha — which Morocco will celebrate on Wednesday.
Given the centuries-old brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Senegal, and on the occasion of the advent of Eid Al-Adha, the King has been pleased to grant, for humanitarian considerations, his royal pardon to the Senegalese supporters.
