Breaking news: Algeria cuts diplomatic relationships with Morocco

Algerian government decided to cut diplomatic ties with Morocco.
Algeria’s Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra was cited by the official news agency as announcing that his country had chosen to cut diplomatic ties with the Kingdom of Morocco.

To explain its final position on the “very hazardous” scenario that resulted from Moroccan Ambassador’s comments in New York, Algeria has called its ambassador to Rabat for a consultation.

According to a statement released by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom of Morocco needed to clarify its final position on the matter following the rejection of its ambassador’s comments in New York.

Algeria expressed disappointment at the lack of a constructive and suitable response from Morocco, which today resolved to call Algeria’s ambassador to Rabat for immediate talks and did not rule out additional measures as the situation developed.
