AfDB Approves €200 Million to Boost Youth Employability in Morocco
The African Development Bank approves €200 million for Morocco’s “Cap Compétences 2030” skills development program. The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved €200 million in financing for the “Cap Compétences 2030” program aimed at improving employment opportunities for young people and women in Morocco.
The results-based financing will support efforts to enhance the relevance, quality, and diversity of vocational training through digitalisation, expanded learning systems, and improved labour market integration mechanisms, the Bank said in a statement.
“Cap Compétences 2030” is structured around three main pillars: skills development and strategic partnerships, inclusive training aligned with labour market needs, and digital transformation supported by stronger institutional capacity.
The program also aims to strengthen and expand existing mechanisms to improve efficiency and outreach.
The AfDB said the initiative reflects its long-term commitment to Morocco in human development, employment, and social inclusion, building on broader efforts to support labour market and vocational training reforms.
Since its establishment, the African Development Bank Group has mobilised more than €15 billion in Morocco across sectors including education, health, employment, infrastructure, energy, and governance.
