COSUMAR Receives “Made in Morocco” Label
COSUMAR receives the “Made in Morocco” label recognizing its integrated national sugar industry. Morocco’s COSUMAR Group has received the “Made in Morocco” certification from the Moroccan Institute for Standardization, recognizing nearly a century of industrial and agricultural expertise in the national sugar sector.
The company said the label acknowledges its integrated model developed since 1929, rooted in Morocco’s territories and supported by generations of workers contributing to the development of the country’s sugar industry.
The certification reflects COSUMAR’s commitment to Morocco’s food sovereignty, industrial competitiveness, and the promotion of Moroccan products internationally.
The “Made in Morocco” label certifies product origin and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards, while ensuring traceability across the value chain.
COSUMAR operates an ecosystem involving more than 80,000 partner farmers and 1,300 employees, covering the entire sugar value chain from agriculture to export.
The group runs 7 sugar factories and 2 refineries across Morocco, with a total production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per year.
In 2025, COSUMAR produced over 2 million tonnes of white sugar, including 1.2 million tonnes for the domestic market and 851,000 tonnes exported to more than 90 countries.
Since 2013, the group has exported over 6 million tonnes of unsubsidized sugar, reinforcing the global competitiveness of Morocco’s sugar industry.
