AFRICOM Honors Morocco at African Lion 26
Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, and General Dagvin Anderson, Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM). Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, held talks Thursday with General Dagvin Anderson, Commander of U.S. Africa Command, who was visiting Morocco as part of the 22nd African Lion exercise. The two officials discussed bilateral military cooperation, with a particular focus on operational training — a partnership that has been institutionalized through the annual African Lion exercise since 2004.
The meeting was capped by an official decoration ceremony. On behalf of the U.S. Secretary of War, General Anderson personally awarded the Legion of Merit — one of the United States military’s highest honors — to Lieutenant General Berrid and to Brigadier General Mohsine Bensdira, Head of the 3rd Bureau of the South Zone General Staff.
