Bayt Mal Al Qods Brings Free Healthcare to Communities Across Al Qods Governorate
Bayt Mal Al Qods Asharif Agency has launched the second phase of its free medical campaign in villages and Bedouin communities across the Al Qods Governorate, helping residents access healthcare closer to home.
The campaign began in Biddu, northwest of Al Qods, on Monday. Around 150 people benefited on the first day, receiving consultations in paediatrics, internal medicine, women’s health and eye care. A mobile laboratory also provided medical tests.
The initiative is organised by Bayt Mal Al Qods Asharif Agency, which operates under the Al Qods Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI. It receives support from Moroccan healthcare group Akdital and works in partnership with Astra Lab laboratories.
The first phase reached around 2,500 people. The latest campaign aims to serve communities where distance and movement restrictions make medical care harder to access.
Campaign Focuses on Prevention and Early Detection
The second phase will run through December and cover three main health priorities.
In October, medical teams are raising awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early screening. In November, activities will focus on men’s health and chronic conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.
The December programme will support older people and persons with disabilities through health consultations, mental health awareness and workshops for caregivers.
Residents Call for Continued Support
Local organisers said the campaign also included a breast cancer awareness session attended by around 120 women in Biddu.
Residents welcomed the free services, saying they reduced medical expenses and the need to travel for consultations and tests. Some also called for future campaigns to include free medicines, particularly for families who need ongoing treatment.
The programme builds on the agency’s first campaign, launched in February as part of its annual social assistance initiative. It delivered 24 medical days across 31 areas in the Al Qods Governorate and referred more than 100 people to hospitals for further treatment.
The agency says the new phase will continue bringing medical services and health awareness to communities with limited access to care.
