US Consular Services to Reach Laayoune in November
The US Consulate General in Casablanca has scheduled consular services in Laayoune for November 2026 as part of a mobile outreach programme for American citizens living in or visiting Morocco.
According to the announced schedule, the programme will also cover Marrakech in October, Ouarzazate in November and Oujda in December. Services will include passport assistance and consular notarisation.
The inclusion of Laayoune comes amid longstanding strategic ties between Washington and Rabat. In December 2020, the United States formally recognised Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara.
The planned visit is primarily administrative, providing consular assistance to US citizens. Its inclusion of Laayoune also extends the consulate’s mobile services to the city as part of its broader outreach programme.
