Jessie J closed the 19th edition of Jazzablanca with a performance featuring some of her biggest hits. British singer Jessie J brought the 19th edition of Jazzablanca to a memorable close on Saturday night, delivering a high-energy performance that capped one of Morocco’s biggest music festivals.
Performing on the Casa Anfa Stage in Casablanca, Jessie J kept the crowd on its feet with a string of her biggest hits, including “Do It Like a Dude”, “Domino”, “Nobody’s Perfect”, “Burnin’ Up”, and “Wild”, before ending the night with “Price Tag”, which festivalgoers sang along to.
Throughout the concert, the British artist engaged with the audience, sharing stories from her stay in Morocco and speaking about her battle with breast cancer, saying she had overcome the disease without giving up her passion for music.
Responding to repeated requests from fans, she also performed an acoustic version of “Flashlight”, one of the evening’s most emotional moments.
Diverse Lineup Highlights Festival Finale
Earlier in the evening, British singer Jorja Smith took to the Casa Anfa Stage, performing a soulful set that included “Be Honest” and “Try Me”. Despite being pregnant, she delivered a performance marked by sensitivity and warmth.
On Stage 21, American artist Madison McFerrin opened the evening before Moroccan gnawa artist Hind Ennaira and DJ-producer Omary presented “Gnawatronic”, a live fusion of gnawa music, electronic sounds, jazz, funk and urban rhythms.
Speaking to MAP, Hind Ennaira said she was delighted to return to Jazzablanca for a second time and present the duo’s latest artistic project. Omary said Gnawatronic blends traditional gnawa music with electronic, jazz, funk and blues influences while preserving its Moroccan identity.
He added that “Baba Mimoun”, a track set to appear on the duo’s upcoming album, has been reinterpreted with a new orchestral arrangement while remaining faithful to the essence of the gnawa repertoire.
The festival’s free program at Arab League Park concluded with a performance by Sara Moullablad, who blended bossa nova, jazz and African influences before a large audience.
Held from July 2 to 11, the 19th edition of Jazzablanca featured a diverse lineup spanning jazz, soul, pop, funk, electronic music, gnawa and world music, reinforcing the festival’s place as one of Morocco’s leading cultural events.
