King Mohammed VI Chairs Religious Evening Marking 28th Anniversary of Hassan II’s Passing

King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, chaired Monday at the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat a religious evening marking the 28th anniversary of the passing of his late father, King Hassan II.

Accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid and Prince Moulay Ahmed, the Sovereign attended a ceremony featuring recitations from the Holy Quran and panegyrics of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed.

The King and members of the Royal Family also paid their respects at the grave of the late King Hassan II. The evening concluded with prayers for the repose of the souls of Hassan II and the late King Mohammed V, as well as prayers for the preservation and success of King Mohammed VI and his initiatives in service of the Moroccan people.

The ceremony was attended by the Head of Government, Speakers of both Houses of Parliament, Royal Advisors, members of the Government and constitutional bodies, senior officers of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, members of the Islamic diplomatic corps, and other civil and military figures.
