Morocco was placed at the top of the French Council of Investors in Africa (CIAN) Barometer ranking on the business climate in Africa, unveiled on Thursday, March 15th, on the sidelines of the “CIAN Africa Forum” held in the form of a web conference in the presence of high-level speakers.

Each year, the French Council of Investors in Africa (CIAN) conducts a survey of foreign companies established in Africa on the prospects for their activity, their assessment of the business climate and whether they are planning new investments.

According to the results of the annual survey carried out between November 2020 and early January 2021, among international companies investing in Africa, the Kingdom achieved a better score than the previous year in this area, as its rating went from 3.1 out of 5 in 2019 to 3.2 in 2020.

By comparison, South Africa scored 2.9, Algeria 2.5, Egypt 2.9, Tunisia 2.8 and Mauritania 2.6 out of 5.

Note that Morocco shares the podium with Mauritius, according to the French private employers’ organization whose member companies generate nearly 80% of French economic activity on the continent, estimated at 60 billion euros.

This important meeting was split this year into two sequences. Thus, the second part of the forum will take place on Thursday, July 1st, 2021, with the program: face-to-face plenary conferences and B2B workshops.
