Morocco-US Joint FTA Committee Holds 9th Session in Rabat
Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour The 9th session of the Joint Committee overseeing the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Morocco and the U.S. was held Monday in Rabat to discuss ways of strengthening strategic ties and trade exchanges between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Office of the United States Trade Representative and a delegation of senior institutional officials.
Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour said the consultations are part of the implementation of the Royal Vision aimed at strengthening the national economy and consolidating the Kingdom’s relations with its strategic allies.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Mezzour stressed the need to further strengthen the Rabat-Washington strategic partnership, particularly amid a globally fluctuated context, underscoring the importance of reaching concrete solutions to ensure a better balance in bilateral trade exchanges.
The discussions also focused on developing a common vision to streamline trade transactions, the minister said, noting that both sides addressed customs-related issues and ways to facilitate access for a wide range of Moroccan products to the US market.
