Youssef Amrani Meets White House FIFA Task Force to Advance 2026 World Cup Plans
Ambassador Youssef Amrani and White House FIFA Task Force chief Andrew Giuliani, during their strategic exchange in Washington In Washington, Morocco’s ambassador to the United States, Youssef Amrani, held an important working meeting with Andrew Giuliani, presidential advisor and head of the White House FIFA Task Force, as preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup continue.
The high-level meeting reflected strong mutual cooperation and highlighted the long-standing friendship between Morocco and the United States.
Andrew Giuliani, appointed to coordinate World Cup 2026 preparations under the U.S. administration, is overseeing the organization of the tournament, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. He is responsible for coordinating efforts to welcome millions of fans from around the world, including a large number of Moroccan supporters.
The United States considers cooperation with Morocco an important strategic priority, given the Kingdom’s diplomatic and sporting role on the international stage.
The 2030 World Cup will be co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, making Morocco part of a historic sequence of major football events after the 2026 edition.
During the meeting, officials highlighted Morocco’s infrastructure development in football and praised its growing international sports profile. The FIFA President has also reportedly expressed admiration for Morocco’s progress, supported by long-term national investment in sports development.
U.S. officials confirmed their willingness to work closely with Morocco to ensure the success of both the 2026 and 2030 World Cups. The discussions also included cooperation in areas such as organization and security.
The 2026 World Cup has already generated huge global interest, with millions of tickets sold and hundreds of millions of requests registered during the first phase of sales, reflecting unprecedented demand.
For Morocco, this cooperation reflects the strength of its long-standing partnership with the United States, which will mark 250 years of diplomatic relations. The country continues to strengthen its international presence through sports diplomacy and strategic cooperation with key global partners.
