France Calls Morocco Partnership a Model for Africa
French Trade Minister Nicolas Forissier said the France-Morocco economic partnership has become a model for the rest of Africa. France’s economic partnership with Morocco has become “a model for the rest of Africa”, French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness Nicolas Forissier said on Wednesday, pointing to record trade between the two countries and their shared approach to economic cooperation.
Speaking at the France–Morocco Economic Day in Paris, Forissier described the relationship as an “exceptional economic partnership” built on the belief that international trade, when fair and properly organized, creates opportunities that benefit both countries.
He said this shared vision and common values have helped make the France-Morocco partnership an example for the rest of the African continent.
France-Morocco Trade Tops €15 Billion
Addressing nearly 300 business leaders, investors, public officials and institutional representatives, Forissier said bilateral trade exceeded €15 billion in 2025, calling the figure unprecedented and noting that trade has doubled in less than 10 years.
He said France plans to continue strengthening economic ties with Morocco through the same “win-win” approach that has guided the relationship, adding that Morocco is continuing to industrialize, modernize and diversify its economy while France is opening its market to products made in Morocco.
Economic Forum Focuses on Stronger Business Ties
The France–Morocco Economic Day brought together public and private sector stakeholders to deepen trade and investment between the two countries.
The event was organized in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco (CFCIM), and Business France. It serves as a platform to support companies and promote economic cooperation on both sides of the Mediterranean.
